I’ve been meaning to start a little blog to share my experience moving from my lil home country (the United States) to Denmark. I moved here in August 2023 to get my Master’s at the University of Copenhagen.

Even though I find there are some things in common between where I was living before, in New York City, and here, in Copenhagen, there has definitely been a learning curve in conducting my day-to-day life here.

Some similarities that I’ve experienced here in Denmark simply have to do with how I was already living my life before moving here. For example, how much life revolves around cheese here. This might be a good place to explain my domain name, Bella Med Ost. (google docs just did an autofill to Osteoporosis by the way..)

Bolle Med Ost (BMO) is a classic breakfast/lunch/snack eaten here in Denmark. It consists of a bread bun (maybe with seeds on it) with butter and a slice or two of cheese. It’s delightful.

Somehow Bella Med Ost popped into my brain one day. After giving myself a pat on the back for how creative I am, I decided to pay $10 for the (miraculously available) domain name.

Although a lot of things I write on here will be Bella-in-Denmark-centric, I’m hoping to write a bit about other stuff I do and enjoy. I love baking, cooking, gardening, and little DIY crafts. I hope that you enjoy the little pieces of my life that I share here 🙂
